Napa Register August 2nd, 2011 If Given a Chance helps woman achieve dreams Roseanne Gammello was facing another dilemma. Not that she hadn’t faced many before and conquered most, but this one… Roseanne recently graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in integrative biology. She pretty much accomplished this on her own. She did have one “friend” who stood by her from the beginning: the If Given a Chance Foundation. She says, “Out of all the support I received throughout my college and graduate school years, If Given a Chance is the only one that has never left my side.” Her comment about graduate school brings us back to the dilemma. While attending UC Berkeley, Roseanne worked multiple jobs, some requiring her to take BART and buses to get to the jobs in San Francisco. Upon completion of her degree at Berkeley, she moved to San Francisco, began her graduate studies in education at the University of San Francisco, and took on two jobs. The dilemma? It was difficult at best to get from home, to graduate school, to each job and complete her required studies. Now she had reached the point where she must take on student teaching in addition to everything else. Roseanne’s attitude was, as it had been for so many years, “Whatever it takes, I can and will do it.” This time she would need a miracle, as she found out that trying to patch together bus and BART schedules to make it to grad school, the jobs (all in San Francisco), and to her student teaching position in Oakland was impossible. The impossible produces miracle workers like Kent Gardella and Kevin Massie. Kent has been a board member of If Given a Chance for quite a few years and was always personally seeking ways to assist the young people If Given serves to be successful. He has engineered free dental work for recipients of If Given’s award, he has helped connect them to needed services, and he has joined forces with his fellow Rotarian, Kevin Massie, to do something extraordinary. Kevin owns Napa Ford and receives good used cars in trade. Many of If Given a Chance’s recipients are totally on their own and between school and living expenses, cannot afford a car. Kent invited Kevin to join him in finding a solution to that problem. On June 20, Roseanne met Kevin and received the miracle she needed so badly, a car. Kent and Kevin had, once again, created a solution. Roseanne now can manage to make it, in time, to all her responsibilities. She was overcome with emotion and her appreciation for Kevin’s generosity and Kent’s efforts on her behalf. She was also her very focused self. According to her, this will give her more time to study, create lesson plans and even sleep.

Just wanted to drop you a note to thank you and Tim Clawson for your understanding and help with my repair (battery) I know you both went out of your way to accommodate our family. Going above and beyond the normal customer service is what sets companies apart from others. It is nice to know Napa Ford does just that. I like to do business with local companies not only to help the local economy but to also network with the local business's.

His courtesy and professionalism are unmatched by anyone I have ever worked with while shopping for the right car and dealership. I was given all the information needed to make an informed decision on my purchase. Within the last few days I had occasion to bring my motorhome to your facility for repair of a chassis electrical problem. From the time of my initial phone inquiry with Areli to the time I picked up my vehicle, all the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The problem was diagnosed accurately and corrected promptly, and at reasonable cost. The RV interior was even well protected against tracking and such. The RV was stored securely with care overnight. The staff was careful to explain the problem in detail in a patient manner which I very much appreciated. They were most helpful and just doggone nice.
